Enas wins Vice Chairmanship and new faces join Tribal Council
December 14, 2006

Eldred Enas was selected by Tribal members to serve as Vice Chairman in the Tribal Elections held on December 2. Enas, who had been a Tribal Councilman, defeated incumbent Russell Welsh in the election.

The three Tribal Council seats up for vote went to Dennis Welsh, Jr., Richard Armstrong and Daphne Hill-Poolaw. Welsh and Armstrong are newcomers to the Tribal Council, while Hill-Poolaw served as a councilwoman from 2002-2004.

Incumbent Council members Ray Aspa, Sr. and Sylvia “Cindy” Homer were unsuccessful in their bid for re-election. Each council member elected will serve a four-year term. The new council members will be sworn in on January 2.
