BlueWater Celebrates 8th Anniversary
June 4, 2007

Invites public to join June celebration, including culture, gaming and music.

BlueWater Resort & Casino will celebrate its eighth birthday this June with events featuring native culture, gaming action and musical entertainment.

The Casino has been an important part of CRIT’s economic development efforts as it has grown into a popular and fun attraction that has earned its nickname “The Prize of the Colorado.” The celebration will take place June 16 and 17.

“We welcome all to come celebrate,” said Dempsey Holt, director of marketing and entertainment at the casino. “The celebration will be filled with culture, Native American arts and crafts, as well as high-stakes bingo and a rockin’ concert.”

Visitors will have the opportunity to view and buy Native American arts and crafts as well as enjoy performances from local native dancers and singers all day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Mohave Conference rooms. The doors open at 1 p.m. for the $12,000 High Stakes Bingo. There will be an early-bird session at 3:30 pm and the main session starts at 4 p.m.

The evening’s concert features WildHeart, a tribute to Fleetwood Mac, followed by Desperado, the country’s premier Eagles tribute band. Gates to Captain Jack’s open at 7 p.m.

“The newly remodeled Captain Jack’s, which sits right on the famed Colorado River’s edge, will be open to all fans for Saturday evening’s concert,” Holt said. “These two tribute acts are the best there are to offer and are sure to rock BlueWater outdoor amphitheater.”

Concert tickets are on sale in the Gift Shop and are a great value at $10 in advance and $15 day of show.

On Sunday June 17, BlueWater has incorporated Father’s Day into the eighth birthday party celebration with “Father Day’s Bingo.” Dads will receive a special giveaway with buy-ins at Bingo. Bingo doors open at noon with sessions at 1:30 and 2 p.m.

Also a special dinner menu for “Father’s Day” will be offered in the Garden Cafe and River Willow. The specially priced menu options include porterhouse steak or prime rib. The casino card room also features an “8th Birthday Party Texas Hold’em Tournament.”

Registration for the tournament begins at 3 p.m. and the tournament starts at 5 p.m. Tournament buy-ins are $88, no re-buys, no limit, 50 players maximum. The celebration continues with the grand prize drawing of “Crazy 8’s.”

There will be eight winners of $1,111 for a total of $8,888. The drawing takes place at 8 p.m. just in front of the Slot Club.
